Whoa, EV community - mind officially blown! Just discovered that a growing number of public Electrify America and EVgo stations are rolling out bidirectional V2G (vehicle-to-grid) pilots right now. Plugged in my Rivian at one yesterday, opted into the grid support mode via their app, and during evening peak hours, it actually exported power back to the grid. Got a $5 credit added to my account instantly - charged for free AND earned cash!
This is huge for offsetting costs and stabilizing the grid. No mods needed, just compatible cars (Rivian, some Fords, VW ID series confirmed working). Speeds were still blazing on the way in (150kW), and it auto-switched seamlessly.
Has anyone else tried V2G at public chargers? Which stations/cities? How much are you netting per session? Let's compile a list of live pilots and tips - I want to hit more on my next road trip! Who's in? 🚀⚡
